Do you have kids yourself?
Yes. My oldest son, Grant, is 5 and my youngest son, Carter, is 2.
Are you originally from Houston? If not, where are you from?
I grew up in The Woodlands.
Have you ever gone out of the country? If so, where was your favorite place?
I studied for 6 months at the University of Melbourne in Australia.
Where did you attend school?
I graduated from Duke University for my undergraduate degree and Baylor College of Medicine for my doctorate of medicine.
What brought you into medicine?
I love the idea of longitudinal relationships with families. I love watching my patients grow up and families grow. I feel honored to get to be a part of that.
What’s your best advice on staying healthy?
Incorporating exercise into family life. I do work out videos and the most fun is when my 2 boys will try to do yoga poses with me.
What would you tell your 18 year old self?
Quit stressing! Have more confidence in yourself.
Tell us something your patient families may be surprised to learn.
In college, I used to paint myself in blue house paint and be in the first row at Duke Basketball games. I was the exclamation mark in “Go Duke!”
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Being a pediatrician at Texas Children’s Pediatrics Cypress with my patients that will be 10 years older!
