Actually, you don’t have to be on a strict diet when you’re breastfeeding. Your baby has already been exposed to the foods you eat while you are pregnant by swallowing the amniotic fluid around them in the womb.
Breastfeeding just continues the process… how cool is that?
Your baby is exposed to all the different flavors of foods that you eat — garlic, jalapeño (after all, we are in Texas), and even chocolate (that’s what I’m talkin’ about!). In fact, some researchers have reported that breastfed babies are more likely to try new foods after they wean because of the variety of tastes and flavors that they are exposed to during breastfeeding.
